In the 2018 ANZAC Round, the Rabbitohs honoured those who carried a nation on their shoulders. We paid our respects to the heroes who served our nation with distinction in World War I and World War II, and also wore a rabbit on their chest.
When South Sydney ran out against the Brisbane Broncos at ANZ Stadium on Thursday 26 April, ANZAC Round, they carried them with them.
Each serviceman who turned out for the Grand Old Club in any grade and served in World Wars I or II, had their name etched on our jersey.
340 Rabbitohs. 177 first grade players. 17 New South Wales representatives. 11 internationals. All of them left a lasting legacy and all were remembered.
Those Rabbitohs who gave the ultimate sacrifice will appear in Cardinal and Myrtle one more time. The Rabbitohs Armed Forces Roll of Honour. Lest we forget.
