Now While this jersey is largely unremarkable the story of its main sponsor of the time, FirePower, is interesting. Perth-based Firepower claimed to have made a fuel additive to reduce fuel consumption and emissions but the company was flagged as suspicious by ASIC after it shot into public view signing multimillion-dollar sponsorship contracts with the Sydney Kings, the Western Force rugby team, South Sydney rugby league club, V8 supercars, the Australian Superbike Championship and the Tongan national rugby team.
By the start of the 2008 Season the company was found to be fraudulent, but the jerseys had already been printed and were sold on mass. On the field however the bunnies had covered the name with a large NAB logo instead.
