2005 Penrith Panthers Away Player Issue Jersey (XL)
Now this is a bit of an interesting one. At the end of the 04 Season NTG ceased to be the panthers sleeve sponsor, but with a new sponsor yet to be found and the need for player jerseys to be used (e.g trial games) a solution was proposed. just heat press big black patches over them. That's exactly what we have here.
I tried to find images or game footage from panthers 2005 preseason trials but was unsuccessful, however i believe thats what these were altered for.
It definitely features the thicker heat pressed position numbers on the back, and the slight taper of the player cut jerseys.
On top of all this, it's one of the great designs of the 2000's. Created by Full Boar Designer John Gearman this kit was well ahead of its time. teal base, orange cuffs, purple honeycomb, How did this get across the line? I don't know but Im so glad it did.
Made by ISC, this jersey is marked as a L but measures 58cm across the chest (pit to pit), making it fit like a XL. While the overall condition of the Jersey is very good, it does have some very small marks on the belly, but its undetermined if this was from player use or otherwise (see pics).
